ST. CLAIR 3, HUMBER 2

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College men's volleyball team hosted the Humber Hawks on Saturday afternoon at the SportsPlex.

In an intense back and forth match the Saints came away with a hard fought 3-2 win. St. Clair got off to a great starting taking the first set 25-22 and the second set 25-19 over the Hawks. However, Humber bounced back winning an amazing third set 32-30. Humber kept the momentum going by taking the fourth set 25-16. St. Clair got off to a great start in the fifth and deciding match and finished Humber off 15-12.

The strength of the Saints in this match was their ability to spread their offence around. St. Clair had four players with double digit points. Rookie Robert Carter led the way with 14 kills, two stuff blocks and six digs.

With the win St. Clair improved to 7-6 on the season and are tied for fifth place in the OCAA West Division with Sheridan and Niagara. The Saints are ranked eighth in the OCAA. With the loss Humber dropped to 9-5 on the year and are ranked sixth in Ontario.

The Saints are next in action at the SportsPlex on Sunday, Jan. 29 at 3 p.m. when they host the Sheridan Bruins. Sheridan is currently 7-7 on the season and are ranked seventh in the OCAA.
