With a 77-69 win over the Seneca Sting, the Lethbridge Community
College Kodiaks will move on to the bronze medal final.
It was an aggressive match-up, with both teams applying heavy
offensive and defensive pressure. In the first 90 seconds of the
second half, the Kodiaks got sloppy and lost a six-point lead. The
two teams were locked at 58 with just under seven minutes left in
the game, but LCC's Kayla Lambert was a steady offensive force,
putting 19 points on the board. Seneca's player of the game,
Natasha Thombs - a CCAA All-Canadian - had one of her best
performances of the tournament so far, but it wasn't enough to help
the Sting in the final minutes.
Players of the game:
LCC Kodiaks: Tori Lybbert - 14 points, 8 rebounds, 3 assists
Seneca Sting: Natasha Thombs - 12 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists
Next up:
With this loss, Seneca finishes the tournament with one win and two
losses. LCC moves to the bronze medal match today at 5 p.m. They
will play the winner between the Okanagan Lakers and Langara
College Falcons.
