LAWRENCE, BRUNI NAMED OCAA BASKETBALL ATHLETES OF THE WEEK

TORONTO - The following have been named Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) basketball student-athletes of the week for the period ending Sunday, March 25.

MALE: Romaine Lawrence, Algonquin

Second-year guard Romaine Lawrence (Toronto) of Algonquin was named player of the game at the recent OCAA all-star game at Centennial College. The OCAA East region first-team all-star scored a game-high 30 points, contributing a consistent 15 points in each half in Team East's 114-110 victory over Team West. Lawrence led Algonquin in scoring during the regular season averaging 16.4 points per game, making him one of the top dozen scorers in OCAA.

FEMALE: Corina Bruni, Algoma

All-Canadian Corina Bruni (Sault Ste. Marie, Ont.) of Algoma was named player of the game at the recent OCAA all-star game at Centennial College. The third-year point guard led all players with 17 points as her Team West squad defeated Team East 73-69. The OCAA West region first-team all-star ranked fourth among OCAA players with 264 points, third in steals with 65 and second in assists with 84 during the regular season. She ranked seventh with her 14.7 points per game average.
