The St. Clair College women's basketball team is proud to announce some top recruits who will be suiting up for the Saints next season.
Three players from the local area have signed on including
5-foot-11 shooting guard Meighen Boyd from St.
Anne High School. Boyd was a top scoring threat during her high
school career while winning four city championships and three
SWOSSAA titles. During her grade 11 season she led the OFSAA
tournament in scoring and won a provincial bronze this past fall in
her grade 12 season. Boyd was also named a first-team WECSSAA
all-star and participated in the all-star game this past fall.
Alysha Pedro-Anderson will be joining the Saints
in 2013-14 after a successful high school career at Holy Names
where she guided the Knights to three consecutive WECSSAA
championship finals. A dogged defender, the 5-foot-7 Pedro-Anderson
usually had the assignment of guarding the opposition's best
offensive backcourt player in high school and will be a fine
addition to St. Clair's defence.
Sarah Bondy will also help the St. Clair
backcourt from the point guard position next season. She had a
stellar career at General Amherst and is no stranger to winning
having helped her high school team to OFSAA gold in 2011 and a
silver medal this past fall. The 5-foot-6 Bondy is a two-time
WECSSAA champion and owns a pair of SWOSSAA titles. She was
also an accomplished club player for the Windsor Valiants program
competing most recently for the JUEL team.
