TRURO, N.S. - The St. Thomas Tommies topped the Fanshawe Falcons
76-53 in quarter-final action at the 2013 CCAA Women's Basketball
National Championship on Friday.
No. 7-ranked Fanshawe was leading second-seeded St. Thomas by two
points after the first quarter. St. Thomas then surged and went on
a 16-0 run during the second quarter and never looked back.
St. Thomas was led in points by Kelly Vass (12), Carissa McTague (10) and Ashley Bawn (10).
Fanshawe's offence rested on the shoulders of Natasha Amo (23) and Felicia Mazerolle (16).
The Tommies will now face the third-seeded Dawson College Blues in the semifinal Friday at 7:15 p.m. Fanshawe will move into the consolation round where they will face the VIU Mariners Friday at 2:15 p.m.
