FANSHAWE 57, CAMBRIAN 43

LONDON, Ont. - The Fanshawe women's basketball team (2-0) played its second game in as many days versus the Cambrian Golden Shield (0-2). Fanshawe was again successful, winning the game 57-43.

In the first quarter, both teams played tight defence, not letting either team get any easy baskets. Cambrian led at the end of the first with a score of 8-5.

With seven minutes left in the half, the aggressive defence led to both teams being in the penalty. Fanshawe took advantage hitting six free throws in the quarter and closed the gap to one. The Golden Shield finished the last 30 seconds with four straight points and took a 22-17 lead into the half. Cambrian's Trish Taylor led all players with 10 points.

Fanshawe's full court press bothered the Cambrian attack to start the second half, which led to a 9-0 run. The Falcons continued to press all quarter and increased the lead to 10 going into the final quarter of play. Fanshawe controlled the tempo for the rest of the game and won with a final score of 57-43.
 
Fanshawe's Larissa McBean and Ali Vlasman both scored 10 points for the Falcons. Cambrian's Kayla Odorizzi led the Golden Shield with 14 points.

The Falcons next match takes place on the road on Friday, Nov. 1 at 6 p.m. versus the Niagara Knights (1-0).
