MOHAWK 75, LAMBTON 63

SARNIA, Ont. - The Mohawk men's and women's basketball teams both scored victories over Lambton College in OCAA action in Sarnia on Saturday (Nov. 2).

The Mountaineer men topped the Lions 95-86. The visitors had to rally from a 54-46 half time deficit.

Andrew Cicuttini led Mohawk with a double-double of 29 points and 15 rebounds. Matt Fennell had 20 points and five rebounds. Alex Reis scored 19 and added eight boards and Xzennis Brereton contributed 11 points, six rebounds and four assists.

"We are happy to get out of here with a win," said Mohawk head coach Brian Jonker. "We made significant strides in the second half and it provides a positive feeling about what we can become defensively."

The Mountaineers are now 2-1, while Lambton is 1-3.

The Mohawk women also improved to 2-1 with a 75-63 verdict over Lambton, now 0-4.

Careena Browne and Ally DeLorenzi had 16 points apiece and Lacey Wolters added 14.
