ST. CLAIR 90, LAMBTON 55

LAMBTON, Ont. - The St. Clair women's basketball team improved their record to 4-1 on the season with an impressive 90-55 victory over Lambton College Friday at the campus gym.

The Lady Saints started relatively slow but were still able to end the first quarter up 15-9. St. Clair got it rolling in the second quarter and entered half time up 38-25. Lambton never threatened again as the Saints built a big lead with pressure defence that resulted in 23 steals and 31 turnovers for the visitors.

Kendyl Rizea (Windsor, Ont./Vincent Massey) led the Saints offensively with 18 points adding nine rebounds and five steals. Rizea was also 10-of-15 from the free throw line. Fourth-year guard Jaide Lyons (Windsor, Ont./F.J. Brennan) also reached double figures with 14 points as did rookie Shannon Kennedy (Windsor, Ont./St. Joseph's) who had 13 points to go with eight rebounds and five steals. Jessica Gordon (London, Ont./Mother Teresa) was the last Saint in double figures with 12 points adding five rebounds.

Lambton's Riley Williams led all scorers with 24 points adding nine rebounds in a losing effort.

The St. Clair women's basketball team travel to Sudbury next weekend to face Cambrian College in a pair of games Saturday and Sunday.
