MOHAWK 66, CAMBRIAN 31

HAMILTON, Ont. - It was a tough trip for the Cambrian Golden Shield, travelling to Hamilton from Sudbury. The visitors from the Nickel City lost in both the men's and women's basketball games Friday and Mohawk downed them handily for the second day in a row Saturday (Nov. 9), at the David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre. As a result, both Mohawk teams are 4-1 in the OCAA West Division, while both Cambrian teams are 0-6.

The Mountaineer women coasted to a 66-31 victory, as Stef Hrymak scored 17 points. Natalie Fisher scored nine, Allyson DeLorenzi had eight and Katelyn Arbour and Carissa Browne each contributed seven.

Karlee Duggan and Trish Taylor each scored seven for Cambrian.

The Mohawk men whipped Cambrian 103-59. Matt Fennell scored 19 points to lead the Mountaineers. Taylor Dowhaniuk, Xzennis Brereton and Andrew Cicuttini each had 12 points with Cicuttini adding nine rebounds.

Chance Goulet topped the scorers for the Golden Shield with 17 points. Braydon Ritchie had 16.
