NIAGARA 69, FANSHAWE 57

WELLAND, Ont. - In their only Friday night road game of the year, the Fanshawe Falcons (2-1) headed to Welland, Ont., to take on the undefeated Niagara Knights (3-0).

Fanshawe started the game on an 8-0 run but slowly saw it slip away, as Niagara tied the game at the end of the first quarter 13-13.

Niagara won the second quarter by 12, which ended up being the difference in the game. The Falcons fell to the Knights by a final score of 69-57.

Ali Vlasman led Fanshawe with 17 points on 8-of-12 shooting. Falcon Stephanie Antwi chipped in 10 points and added six steals in the victory.

The road doesn't get any easier for the Falcons this week, as they take on the West Division leading Humber Hawks (4-0) at 6 p.m. on Wednesday. The undefeated Hawks are led by second year point guard Cassandra Nofuete, who averages 14.5 points, 4.8 rebounds and 5.2 assists per game.
