HUMBER 67, SHERIDAN 55

HAMILTON, Ont. - Humber jumped out to a 10-2 lead in their quarter-final match-up versus the Sheridan Bruins. Good ball movement and an efficient offence from a depth of players had the Bruins looking outmatched early.

The Hawks cooled off considerably in the second quarter, however, allowing the visiting Bruins to crawl back into the game, winning their only quarter of the game. With Humber leading 20-19 late in the quarter, Humber's Mary Asare finally ended the Hawks' scoring drought with a three-pointer and the Hawks went into halftime with a 25-24 lead.

As cold as the Hawks were in the second-quarter, they came out equally hot in the third, starting the quarter on a 13-0 run stopped by two free-throws from Sheridan's Haeven Durrant.

The Bruins started the third shooting poorly and were unable to keep pace with the scoring depth of the Hawks who had four players score in double-digits. The Bruins eventually fell to the Hawks 67-55.

Humber will now face Mohawk in the 8 p.m. semi-final game on Friday. Sheridan will face Durham for a chance to play for an Ontario Colleges Athletic Association bronze medal.

Humber's player of the game was Aleena Domingo. Domingo was great on both sides of the floor scoring 14 points and grabbing 20 rebounds, including eight offensive rebounds. Sheridan's player of the game and the leading scorer of the game was Shylanda Saunders who dropped 22 points, pulled down seven rebounds, and added two assists.
