ST. CLAIR 74, SHERIDAN 33

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair women's basketball team pushed their record to 10-3 in the OCAA's West region with a convincing 74-33 win over Sheridan Friday night at the campus gym.

A suffocating Saints defence held Sheridan to just 18 per cent shooting for the game and the OCAA's leading scorer to just five points. St. Clair scored 30 points off 32 Sheridan turnovers while winning the rebounding margin by 10. The Saints were also able to get 11 team members on the score sheet.

With four players in double figures and 23 assists the Saints spread it around in this game. Rookie Shannon Kennedy (Windsor, Ont./St. Joseph's) was impressive again just shy of a triple-double scoring 14 points to go with 10 rebounds and eight steals, not to mention four assists.

Tori Schutz scored 14 of St. Clair's bench points and added five rebounds. St. Clair fifth-year forward Kendyl Rizea (Windsor, Ont./Vincent Massey) reached double figures with 11 points and eight rebounds but helped her teammate with seven assists. Jessica Gordon (London, Ont./Mother Teresa) chipped in with 10 points.

Sheridan's Sabrina Brathwaite (Brampton, Ont.) had seven points to lead her team.

The St. Clair women's basketball team goes on the road next weekend to continue their OCAA West region regular season schedule with a two-game swing when they travel to Mohawk College (Hamilton, Ont.) on Saturday and Niagara College (Welland, Ont.) on Sunday.
