HUMBER 67, FANSHAWE 53

LONDON, Ont. - The Fanshawe women's basketball team (2-1) fell to the Humber Hawks (5-0) by a score of 67-53 at the Glenn Johnston Athletic Centre on Saturday afternoon.

The Falcons struggled to score in the beginning of the game, as Humber took an early 7-2 lead. Fanshawe battled hard and kept the Hawks off the glass, however Humber had a 16-8 advantage after the first quarter.

Fanshawe's Ali Vlasman led the Falcons in the second quarter with a couple nice post moves. Unfortunately, Humber player CeeJay Nofuente was on fire. Nofuente contributed points from both behind the arc, as well as the foul line. At half, the score was 33-25 in favour of the Hawks.

In the third quarter, Fanshawe continued to have a hard time on offence, however kept itself in the game with pressure defense and fast breaking. In the fourth quarter, Anique Daley and Natalie Warren controlled the boards, giving the Falcons opportunities to cut Humber's lead. Warren made some key shots to bring the Falcons within 10 points. Unfortunately, despite the Falcons best efforts, Humber came away with the 67-53 win.
