HUMBER 79, ST. CLAIR 52

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's basketball team dropped their first decision of the young season after a 79-52 loss to Humber College (Etobicoke, Ont.) Sunday afternoon at the SportsPlex.

The defending OCAA champions came out on fire hitting from long range as third-year all-Canadian Shannon Kennedy (Windsor, Ont./St. Joseph) was saddled with two early fouls and had to watch for most of the first quarter. Humber led 30-7 after the opening frame and never looked back holding a 45-13 advantage by half-time. The Saints outscored Humber in the fourth quarter 23-15 but only served to lessen the early season blow.

Fifth-year guard Jaide Lyons (Windsor, Ont./FJ Brennan) led the Saints in scoring with 13 points adding six rebounds and a pair of steals. St. Clair post Nicole Tamm (Windsor, Ont./Holy Names) had a fine game reaching double figures in scoring with 12 points nearly making the double-double with nine rebounds.

Humber's Sasha Bertusa (Burlington, Ont.) had a game-high 16 points making four triples to lead her team in the win.
