MOHAWK 94, REDEEMER 45

ANCASTER, Ont. - JenJen Abella's double-double led Mohawk to a resounding 94-45 win over Redeemer in OCAA women's basketball on Saturday in Ancaster, Ont. Abella scored 20 points and added 10 steals. She also contributed five assists and five rebounds for the Mountaineers, who improved to 5-2 with their third consecutive victory.

Monica Batinic had 18 points, six rebounds and four steals for Mohawk.

For the Royals, now 4-4, Jessica Bosma scored 17 points and Jesseca Brown had eight.

Meanwhile, every Mohawk player scored at least two points as the Mountaineers defeated Redeemer 95-71 in men's basketball.

Lamar Barr led the parade with 15 points. Kareem Collins put up 12 points and three others - Xzennis Brereton, Patrick Iavarone and Jeff Hunt - had 10 each. Hunt also had a game-high 11 rebounds for Mohawk, which upped its record to 7-0, with two games remaining before the holiday break.

For Redeemer, which completed it's first semester with a 2-6 mark, Josh de Schiffert and Rayvon Higdon each had 16 points, while Oliver McMayoni and Justin Lenters contributed 10 apiece.
