HAMILTON, Ont. - They started slowly but the Mohawk women's basketball team defeated Redeemer 88-58 on Saturday to complete their OCAA regular season with a 15-3 record and an eight-game win streak.

The Mountaineers brought a balanced scoring attack to the David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre. Stef Hrymak had 16 points, Brittany Gazzola and JenJen Abella recorded 12 points apiece and Carissa Browne added 10.

Mohawk got their momentum going in the second quarter, forcing some turnovers which led to some easy buckets. Head coach Kevin Duffy was pleased with his team's consistency in both ends of the court.

The Mountaineers will host a still to be determined opponent in a crossover qualifying game Saturday (Feb. 27) at 4 p.m. in the DBARC.

This will precede the men's playoff game which will be at 8 p.m.
