ST. CLAIR 85, LAMBTON 65

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's basketball team were 85-65 winners over Lambton College (Sarnia, Ont.) Friday night at the SportsPlex moving their season record to 10-4 in the OCAA's West Region.

Lambton held a brief lead early in the game but the Saints quickly established themselves staking a 19-12 advantage after the first quarter.

On a night where third-year guard Shannon Kennedy (Windsor, Ont./St. Joseph's) needed just 14 points to become St. Clair's all-time leader in points scored, the Saints wasted no time in getting her some open shots. Kennedy hit a pair of three-pointers in the first quarter and then did the same in the second quarter to pull with a point of the 1,226 set by Sara Levesque in 2011.

Kennedy then made a drive to the basket finishing in traffic with her left hand to pass the mark.  The Saints increased their advantage and by halftime were up 42-25. St. Clair eased to the victory from that point shooting over 50 per cent from the field in the contest.

Kennedy broke the record in style finishing with a season-high 29 points adding 10 rebounds for the double-double. Fifth-year guard Jaide Lyons (Windsor, Ont./FJ Brennan) was the only other player in double figures for St. Clair scoring 21 points adding six rebounds and four assists.

Lambton's Riley Williams (Sarnia, Ont.) scored 20 points in the loss.
