ST. CLAIR 75, REDEEMER 50

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's basketball team started the second half of the season well with a 75-50 victory over Redeemer University College (Ancaster, Ont.) Saturday afternoon at the SportsPlex.

The Saints jumped all over the visitors leading 21-4 after the opening quarter and were comfortably ahead 40-19 by halftime. Redeemer mounted a small run to cut the lead to 12 points midway through the third quarter but St. Clair responded pushing their advantage to 28 points cruising to the win.

Shannon Kennedy (Windsor, Ont./St. Joseph's) had her highest output of the season scoring 27 points including 7-of-10 from long range for the Saints. Jaide Lyons (Windsor, Ont./FJ Brennan) was the only other player in double figures for St. Clair scoring 11 points but added five rebounds and five assists to go with a pair of steals.

Third-year guard Sarah Bondy (Amhersturg, Ont./General Amherst) had an efficient game scoring eight points adding four assists and five steals. Rylee Welsh (Lasalle, Ont./St. Thomas of Villanova) hit the boards with eight rebounds including six on the offensive glass which led to six points.

Redeemer's Jesseca Brown (Grand Manan, N.B.) scored 20 points in the loss.
