ST. CLAIR 69, SHERIDAN 32

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's basketball team opened their season in resounding fashion Saturday night at the SportsPlex with a 69-32 win over Sheridan College (Brampton, Ont.).

The Saints scored the first 10 points of the game and didn't look back with a 39-22 lead at halftime and remarkably holding Sheridan to just a single point in the game's final quarter.

Saints post Nicole Tamm (Windsor, Ont./Holy Names) led her team with a game-high 15 points adding seven rebounds. Shannon Kennedy (Windsor, Ont./St. Joseph) and Jaide Lyons each scored 14 points with both nearly eclipsing the double-double mark with nine and eight rebounds respectively. Kennedy added five assists and four steals to fill her stat line.

Rookie guard Leah Beeler (Fort McMurray, Alta.) also reached double figures with 10 points to go with six rebounds for St. Clair.

Sheridan's Sabrina Nerb (Brampton, Ont.) had 11 points in a losing cause.
