ST. CLAIR 61, REDEEMER 49

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's basketball team ran their record to 4-0 with a 61-49 win over Redeemer University College (Ancaster) Saturday afternoon at the SportsPlex.

Ahead comfortably at halftime by a score of 30-19, the Saints faltered and relinquished control the lead briefly at 38-36 with a few minutes to play in the third quarter.St. Clair managed to pull back ahead 40-38 entering the fourth quarter and after employing a full-court press opened up their largest lead at 61-43 cruising to the final result.

Fourth-year player Shannon Kennedy (Windsor, Ont./St. Joseph's) led the Saints with 17 points adding seven rebounds and six steals. Aleah Marton (Amherstburg, Ont./General Amherst) scored 13 points included 6-of-8 at the charity stripe. Torrie Handsor (Wallaceburg, Ont.) had another double-double with 11 points and 13 rebounds for St. Clair adding three blocked shots. Nicole Tamm (Windsor, Ont./Holy Names) also reached double figures for the Saints scoring 11 points to go with six rebounds.

Redeemer's Jesseca Brown (Grand Manan, N.B.) scored 17 points in the loss.
