ST. CLAIR 76, SHERIDAN 45

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's basketball team finished their regular season in style with a 76-45 victory over Sheridan College (Brampton) Sunday afternoon at the SportsPlex. With just a few remaining games in the league schedule the Lady Saints (12-6) await their final placing with tie-breakers to determine a road or home crossover playoff game next weekend.

The Saints were able to build a comfortable 18-13 lead after the opening quarter but put on the gas in the second quarter holding Sheridan to just four more points the remainder of the half. St. Clair held a 40-17 advantage by halftime and by the end of the third quarter were up 30 points (60-30).

Sheridan put together an 11-3 run in the fourth quarter but the Saints were able to coast down the stretch to a comfortable win. St. Clair shot 52 per cent in the second half making nine triples (43 per cent) in total for the game.

Shannon Kennedy (Windsor/St. Joseph's) scored a season and game-high 31 points including seven triples for St. Clair to go with six rebounds. Rylee Welsh (LaSalle/St. Thomas of Villanova) had 12 rebounds while scoring eight points and added four steals for the Saints with Torrie Handsor (Wallaceburg) chipping in with eight points and seven rebounds.

Sheridan's Theresa Brown (Brampton) scored 14 points in the loss.
