The final games of the OCAA Women’s Soccer regular season
wrapped up across the Province last night. The Durham
Lords won the East Region with a 6-0-1 record. The Lords
finished the year tied in points atop the East Region leader board
with the Algonquin Thunder but tie-breaking procedures handed the
Lords the region title. Meanwhile the Humber Hawks
earned the West Region title with a 6-0-2 mark on the year.
Four quarterfinal games will take place across the province this
weekend with the winning teams earning a spot at the OCAA
Championships, hosted by Sheridan College
on October 27-28, 2006.
This year’s East Region scoring race saw two players from the
Durham Lords clash all season with striker Brittan
Micucci grabbing the slim lead and taking the title
scoring 13-goals for an average of 1.86 GPG. Meanwhile in the west
region it was forward Holly Goddard taking the
scoring title with 1.14 GPG. Micucci and Goddard are both rookies
