The Durham Lords Women’s Soccer Team won the OCAA Women’s Soccer title with a dominant 4-1 victory over the Algonquin Thunder on Saturday October 28 in Mississauga as Sheridan College hosted the two-day Championship.

The undefeated Lords led the first half of the gold medal game with OCAA League Scoring Champion Brittany Micucci opening the scoring 15 minutes into the game; ten minutes later Kirsten Bodashefsky curled a blast shot, that the Algonquin keeper couldn’t touch giving the Lords the 2-0 lead.

The second half both teams exchanged scoring chances and Algonquin was able to sneak a goal past Morgan Kelly (3rd Year – Computer & Animation) making it 2-1. Katie Szeghalmi (1st Year – Paramedics) scored at the 80th minute and six minutes later she scored again giving the Lords the 4-1 victory.
