DURHAM 2, CENTENNIAL 2

SCARBOROUGH, Ont. - The Durham College women's soccer team kept their playoff hopes alive on Saturday afternoon as they earned a 2-2 draw against Centennial.

With the tie, Durham (0-3-2) sits in seventh place in the OCAA east region standings, trailing the St. Lawrence Vikings (1-2-1) by just two points.

Trailing the Colts 2-0 in the second half, Durham showed a lot of heart on the pitch as they erased the deficit with two goals of their own. Cailey Giorgi (Oshawa, Ont.) would cut the Centennial lead in half at the 70th minute while Amanda Carvajal (Courtice, Ont.) tied things up 12 minutes later. Carvajal buried the equalizer after receiving a beautiful cross from Kayla Hellam (Oshawa, Ont.).

Durham will look to climb the standings as they match-up against the George Brown Huskies on Thursday, Sept. 27 at Vaso's Field. The Huskies are 2-1-1 to start the season with wins over Centennial and Fleming. Game time is at 6 p.m.
