STEWART NAMED NEW CONESTOGA WOMEN'S SOCCER HEAD COACH

KITCHENER, Ont. - Conestoga College is very pleased to announce Eric Stewart as its new women's soccer coach.

Stewart has over 30 years of coaching experience in soccer. He currently holds his NCCP Level 3 and Coerver Coaching diploma.

Eric was on the coaching staff for the University of Guelph women's soccer team for four years, worked with Waterloo minor soccer for four years, worked at St. James High School in Guelph, Ont., for five years as the senior girl's soccer coach, as well as the Guelph Royals rep program for over 15 years.

Throughout the years, he has won the U17G Ontario Cup championship, two OFSAA championships and numerous showcase tournaments throughout Canada and the U.S.

Stewart is very passionate about coaching and developing a program that incorporates education and sport.

"I believe in a total college and soccer experience," explained Stewart. "Everyone involved in an elite soccer program needs to set and execute individual and teams goals."

"Our program believes in setting high expectations for the individual athlete in school as well as soccer. We will be responsible for our actions on and off the pitch which includes a life style conducive to the success of our education and the women's varsity soccer program."
