CAMBRIAN 3, DURHAM 0

OSHAWA, Ont. - The Durham College women's soccer team dropped their second game of the weekend as the Cambrian Golden Shield earned a 3-0 victory on Sunday.

The Lords fall to 1-5-0 and have failed to score in four of their last five games. The Lords offence has scored just twice this season, the second lowest total in the league.

Cambrian, who jumped into a tie for first place in the OCAA east region with Algonquin, has won three straight games.

Tamara Johnson scored the game's opening goal at the 26-minute mark. The Golden Shield would pad their lead early in the second half with Sarah Cholewinsky scoring three minutes in. Alexandra Ross added an insurance marker in time added on.

Cambrian controlled the flow of the game as they outshot Durham 14-2. Heather Travis (Oakville, Ont.) made six saves for Durham in the loss.

At the midway point of their season, Durham is five points out of a playoff spot. One of the teams they are chasing is Centennial (1-3-2) who will pay a visit to Vaso's Field on Thursday night. Game time is 6 p.m.
