MOHAWK 2, CONESTOGA 0

ANCASTER, Ont. - The Mohawk men's soccer team, which has had four games this year when it did not score, got a half dozen at the expense of Conestoga Condors on Saturday.

The Mountaineers ripped the Condors 6-1 at Redeemer University College. Mohawk led 3-1 at the half.

Andre Lewin had two goals for Mohawk. Lucas Raposo, Semir Ibrahimi and Joseph Barkovich scored the others.

Christian Sanchez got the lone marker for Conestoga which had to play with just 10 men, after receiving a red card in the 32nd minute.

Mohawk levelled its record at 4-4-1, while Conestoga slipped to 0-8-1.

In women's play, Mohawk blanked Conestoga 2-0. The Mountaineers had nine corner kicks in the first half and made good on just one. But it was a beauty, as Alyssa O'Brien found Danielle Datzkiw, who volleyed home from short range in the 24th minute.

The second goal in the 55th minute went to Sarah Incretolli.

Mohawk was without its top two goalkeepers so rookie Holly Glenn stepped in and recorded the shutout.

The Mountaineers improved to 5-4. The Condors slipped to 3-6.
