ST. CLAIR 2, NIAGARA 1

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College varsity soccer teams continued their OCAA regular season schedules as they faced the Niagara College Knights from Welland on Sunday afternoon at the Main Campus Field.

After winning their first two matches handily the St. Clair women had their hands full against the Knights. St. Clair opened the scoring in the 25th minute on a goal by Julia Albeartie (Belle River). That was all the scoring in the first half with the Saints holding an 8-5 edge in shots.

After several good chances to go up 2-0 were not successful Niagara tied the game 1-1 in the 75th minute. St. Clair got the final and winning goal in injury time by Alexandria Schooley (Tecumseh) in the 92nd minute after a mad scramble in front of the Niagara net. The Saints outshot the Knights 12-5 in the second half with the Niagara keeper turning away 6-of-7 shots on goal.

Tory Brown (Windsor) had a solid match in goal earning the win. With the win the Saints improved to 3-0-0 on the season and are tied for first in the OCAA West Division with Fanshawe College. The St. Clair women are currently ranked fifth in the OCAA. The St. Clair women play their next match at home on Saturday, Sept. 23 at 2 p.m. when they host the Mohawk Mountaineers at the Main Campus Field.
