ST. CLAIR 4, DURHAM 2

SUDBURY, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's soccer team responded well after a heartbreaking loss on Thursday morning to defeat the Durham Lords 4-2 in the consolation semi-final on Friday morning in Sudbury, Ont., at the OCAA championship.

After going down 1-0 on a goal by Durham in the 10th minute the Saints bounced back quickly on a nice goal by Cassie Nicholas (Windsor). St. Clair went up 2-1 on a goal by Melanie Jubenville (Windsor) in the 35th minute.

The Lords tied things up at 2-2 in the 60th minute off of a corner kick. It didn't take long for St. Clair to get the lead back with Cassandra Medeiros (London) putting one past the Durham keeper in the 62nd minute. The Saints put the game away in the 70th minute as Nicholas notched her second of the game to make it 4-2.

Durham ended the regular season in third place in the East Division with a record of 7-3-2. Durham scored 38 goals and allowed 16 during the regular season.

Nicholas was named the Saints Player of the Game.

St. Clair will now play on Saturday morning in the consolation championship at 9 a.m. against the Mohawk Mountaineers. The game will be live streamed.
