TORONTO - The following have been named Ontario Colleges
Athletic Association (OCAA) volleyball student-athletes of the week
for the period ending Sunday, March 11.
MALE: Terrel Bramwell, Humber
Humber third-year right side Terrel Bramwell
(Mississauga, Ont.) had a memorable week at the Canadian Collegiate
Athletic Association (CCAA) Men's Volleyball National Championship.
First he was named CCAA player of the year. Bramwell followed this
up earning tournament MVP honours, leading the Hawks to their
first-ever national championship. Bramwell struck for 98 kills in
three matches, including 43 in a 3-1 (25-21, 30-28, 21-25, 26-24)
win over Douglas College in the gold medal game.
FEMALE: Michelle Overzet, Humber
Humber fourth-year middle/outside Michelle
Overzet (Brampton, Ont.) was named a tournament first-team
all-star at the recent CCAA Women's Volleyball National
Championship. Overzet totaled 34 kills, 11 digs, nine blocks and
one service ace in four matches, as Humber finished in fourth
place, tying its best-ever finish at nationals. She was second on
the Hawks averaging 3.2 points per set during the regular season.
Overzet is also a member of the OCAA champion women's rugby
team.
