FIELD SET FOR THE 2014 OCAA WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

OSHAWA, Ont. - The top eight women's volleyball teams are heading to Oshawa this week as Durham College is set to host the 2014 Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) championship. The three-day event will take place from Feb. 20-22 at the Campus Recreation and Wellness Centre.

The event will kick-off with the OCAA championship banquet on Thursday, Feb. 20 at 9 a.m. at the Quality Hotel and Conference Centre followed by the opening match at 1 p.m. Durham will begin their quest for a fourth provincial title at 8 p.m. against the Humber Hawks who enter the event as the six-time defending champions.

A total of 12 matches will be played in a span of three days with the tournament concluding on Saturday, Feb. 22 at 6 p.m. with the gold medal match.

As the championship host, Durham earned an automatic bye in the eight-team field. Seneca, Humber and Fanshawe also earned byes with their performance throughout the regular season. Conestoga, Georgian, Redeemer and Trent round out the field as they punched their tickets to the championship this weekend with wins in the OCAA qualifying round.
