OSHAWA, Ont. - On Friday night, the Fanshawe's women's volleyball team defeated the Seneca Sting in three straight sets (25-19, 25-20, 25-17) in the semi-finals of the OCAA women's volleyball provincial championship.

Fanshawe's setter Darion Gropp ran a fantastic offence with 22 assists and was named the match MVP.

With the win, Fanshawe heads to the OCAA final where it looks to put an end to its OCAA gold medal drought that dates back to 1972.

The final take place on Saturday at 6 p.m. versus the winner of the Humber Hawks and the Trent Excalibur.
