GEORGIAN REBOUNDS AT OCAA WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONSHIP

OSHAWA, Ont. - The Georgian Grizzlies women's volleyball team had an impressive showing in their second match of the Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) Women's Volleyball Championship hosted by Durham College.

After starting with an opening match loss to the Fanshawe Falcons the Grizzlies needed a win to keep their season and their medal hopes alive.

Playing the Conestoga Condors the Grizzlies were able to do just that posting a clean 3-0 sweep by set scores of 25-23, 25-18, and 25-15.

Georgian's Natalie Buck (Keswick, Ont.) led the Grizzlies with 12 kills and earned game's most valuable player award.

The Grizzlies have earned a berth in the bronze medal semi-final matchup at 11 a.m. on Saturday with the winner playing in the bronze medal game later that day at 4 p.m.

Georgian will see a familiar opponent in that match in fellow East Division rival the Trent Excalibur.

Both previous matches were tight five set games with the Excalibur just getting the better of the Grizzlies on both occasions.
