HUMBER FALLS JUST SHORT OF CCAA WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL BRONZE MEDAL

LONGUEUIL, Que. - The Humber Hawks women's volleyball team made a huge statement in knocking off last year's bronze medalists in a heart pounding come-from-behind bronze semi-final five-set win, but with the bronze medal game just a few short hours away they knew it would be tough to repeat this success.

Humber dropped the first set to the PacWest Camosun Chargers, but responded with a second set win to tie the match at one. The next two were battles, but it was the Chargers who controlled the games in the late teens as they went on to win two straight and take the match 3-1.

Kelsey Kovar was a force all night and was selected as the Humber player of the game for her efforts.

In the bronze semi earlier in the day, Humber came back from two sets down to win 3-2 over Grand Prairie. The last three sets were solid and definitive wins for the Hawks. Thalia Hanniman was selected as the Humber player of the game for the second match in a row.
