STRAATSMA NEW OCAA ALL-TIME KILLS LEADER

LONDON, Ont. - Redeemer's fifth-year left side Curtiss Straatsma (Brampton) continues to rewrite the record book in her final season in Ontario Colleges Athletic Association (OCAA) women's volleyball.

With her eight kills in a straight sets victory (25-21, 25-21, 25-17) at Fanshawe on Wednesday night, Straatsma became the OCAA's all-time kills leader. Her 962 career kills is now two ahead of previous record holder Shawna Metcalf of Cambrian set in 2013.

Earlier this season, Straatsma became the OCAA's all-time points leader, also surpassing Metcalf. Straatsma now has 1,311 career points, and has three matches remaining this regular season to add to both records.

The Redeemer Royals (9-6) have won five straight matches as they look to secure a playoff berth in the OCAA's west region.
