HAMILTON, Ont. - Mohawk's volleyball teams shared the spoils with Humber in OCAA volleyball at the David Braley Athletic and Recreation Centre Saturday.

The Mountaineer men defeated the Hawks 25-21, 30-28, 25-19.

The second set saw edge of your seat excitement. The Hawks soared to an 8-1 lead, just to see the Mountaineers climb back to get in front, 22-21. The teams then took turns taking the lead before Mohawk prevailed.

Trevor McLaughlin had 11 kills and five stuff blocks. Eric Girard also scored 11 kills, had one service ace and two blocks. Bryce Marcussen had nine kills, one ace and two blocks.
Chris Spack had 30 assists.

For Humber, Nathan Murdock scored 12 kills and two blocks. Stefan Vukmanovic had six kills, one ace and three blocks, while Jordan Darlington had six kills, one ace and two blocks. Simon Smyth had 28 assists.

With the victory the Mountaineers bumped their record to 6-0 while Humber fell to 3-2.

The Humber women won their fifth straight, sweeping Mohawk  25-17, 25-12, 25-21. The Mountaineers dropped to 2-4 with their third consecutive defeat.

Thalia Hanniman led the Hawks with 10 kills three aces and two blocks. Alley Newman had nine kills and one block. Brittany Vanderlaan had 17 assists.

For the Mountaineers, Jessna Marmo led with five kills. Brittany Gingrich had four kills and one block and Alexandra Pulham had four kills. Yvonne Mann logged 18 assists.
