WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP: DAY 2 RECAP

WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIP: DAY 2 RECAP

VICTORIA - The RSEQ champion Lynx d'Edouard Montpetit made quick work of the OCAA champion Humber Hawks on Friday with a three set sweep; 25-17, 25-20 and 25-18.

CCAA Bronze Quarter-Final #2: Lynx d'Edouard Montpetit 3, Humber Hawks 0

The Lynx used a balanced attack in the first victory of the CCAA Women's National Volleyball Championship led by Maude Babin and her match high 19 kills. Marianne St-Aubin was terrific off the bench collecting 12 kills and an ace while Charlene Robitaille and Laura Manseau each tallied seven kills. However, Babin was the major factor and was named the Player of the Match.

The Hawks lose their second straight of the championship as their offence sputtered. Devan O'Connor was named the Player of the Match with four kills and six digs. Brynne Spence-Coleman led her club with six offensive kills.

On Saturday the Lynx quest for bronze continues as they will play in the bronze medal semi-final at 10 a.m. PT.  The Hawks will play in the seventh-eighth match and face the MSVU Mystics at 2 p.m. PT.
