MOHAWK SPLITS WOMEN'S VOLLEYBALL GAMES ON DAY 1

WELLAND, Ont. - The Mohawk women's volleyball team was 1-1 in opening day action at the Niagara College Knights tournament on Saturday.

The Humber Hawks swept the Mountaineers 25-17, 25-11, 25-22.

Kirsten Bialachowski had 10 kills and one ace. Kinsley Child contributed five kills, an ace and six digs, in a losing effort.

But Mohawk bounced back in their second match of the day, sweeping Canadore 25-19, 25-16, 25-20.

Bialachowski came up with eight kills, two blocks and one ace. Amanda Kuiper had seven kills, one block and two aces and Jessna Marmo produced seven digs.

The Mountaineers next game is Sunday at 9 a.m. versus George Brown.
