WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's volleyball team wrapped up their regular season schedule this past weekend hosting two matches at the SportsPlex. Heading into the weekend the Saints had locked up third place in the OCAA West Division.

On Saturday, the Saints took on the Cambrian Golden Shield. This was a huge match for Cambrian who had to win their final two matches to make the playoffs. St. Clair got off to a strong start winning the first set 25-16. However, it was all Cambrian after that as they won the next three sets by scores of 25-16, 25-22 and 25-15 to win the match 3-1. Angela Evans (Panama) led the way for the Saints offensively with 13 kills and seven digs.

On Sunday, St. Clair bounced back to easily defeat the Collège Boréal's Vipères 3-0. Game scores for Saints were 25-5, 25-16 and 25-14. Kaitlyn Sauve (Windsor, Ont.) had a solid match for St. Clair with eight kills, three service aces, one stuff block and seven digs in two sets played.

With the weekend split, the Saints ended their regular season with a record of 12-6; good for third place alone in the OCAA West Division. The women are currently ranked third in the OCAA.

St. Clair has just under two weeks to focus on and prepare for their OCAA quarter-final match. St. Clair is hosting the OCAA Women's Volleyball Championship presented by belairdirect at the SportsPlex from Feb. 24-26. As host, the Saints are guaranteed a spot in the eight team tournament with the winner advancing to the CCAA nationals in Victoria, B.C. St. Clair will be playing the Algonquin Thunder on Friday, Feb. 24 at 8 p.m. Algonquin finished the regular season in second place in the OCAA East Division with a record of 15-3.
