GEORGIAN MOVING FORWARD IN CROSS COUNTRY

ANCASTER, Ont. - The Georgian Grizzlies men's and women's cross country teams competed in the Redeemer Invitational in Ancaster, Ont., on Saturday afternoon.

The men's team was led by Ryan Fennell of Aurora who finished the 8 km course in 12th place with a time of 31:05. Teammate Zach Buchan of Orillia finished the course less than 30 seconds later in 16th place.

The men's team finished in fifth place overall with an average time of 32:56.

On the women's side, Serafima Stilman of Angus was the top Georgian runner in 24th place completing the 5 km course in 25:09.

As a team the Grizzlies finished midway in the pack in seventh place with an average time of 27:04.

The next event for the Grizzlies will be the Humber Invitational next Saturday, Oct. 5 taking place in Toronto.
