ST. CLAIR CROSS COUNTRY WOMEN TOP FIELD AT HUMBER INVITATIONAL

ETOBICOKE, Ont. - The St. Clair College cross country team competed at their second event of the season Saturday at the Humber College Invitational meet in Etobicoke, Ont., taking home the women's team championship and placing fifth in the men's team competition.

In a field of 70 runners, the St. Clair women's team was the class of the field earning the top spot, four points ahead of host Humber College who are ranked third nationally. The Saints were paced by Donia Oumesrour, who placed fifth in a time of 21:02 over the 5 km course at the Humber Arboretum. Second-year Saints runner Kodi Morgan (sixth - 21:08) and first-year runner Amanda Matthews (seventh - 21:09) were not far behind with Alexa Ouellette (25th - 22:46) completing the scoring.

On the men's side, the Saints finished in fifth place in the team competition and were led by John Trojansek was also fifth in a time of 27:27 over the 8 km course. In a field of 98 runners, the other finishers for the Saints were Jordan Langridge (16th - 28:48), Matt Ward-Trymbaluk (30th - 29:35), Chris Caddey (37th - 31:04) and Forest Frair (59th - 33:56).

The St. Clair cross country team will be next competing in the Muskegon CC Jayhawk Invitational meet in Muskegon, Mich., on Friday, Oct. 11.
