ST. CLAIR CROSS COUNTRY READY FOR PROVINCIALS

SAULT STE. MARIE, Ont. - The St. Clair College cross country team departs Friday for the OCAA provincial championships being run on Saturday in Sault St. Marie, Ont., at Crimson Ridge Golf Club hosted by Sault College.

The Lady Saints have had quite a season to date earning a medal in each event they entered this fall including a bronze at the Fanshawe Invitational (Sept. 19), gold at the Sault Invitational (Sept. 26) and a silver at the Seneca Invitational (Oct. 17). These finishes have allowed the Saints to climb all the way to No. 5 in the recent CCAA national rankings.

The St. Clair women are led by second-year runner Natalie Omahen (Tecumseh, Ont./St. Anne) who has run to a pair of bronze medals in addition to coming off a gold medal at the Seneca Invitational. Omahen will look to improve on her 10th place finish at last year's provincial championship. Rounding out the Saints women's team are Ashley Bracci (Windsor, Ont./Vincent Massey), Meghan Howell (Harrow, Ont./St. Thomas of Villanova), Tori Horrobin (Wallaceburg, Ont.), Beth Horrobin (Wallaceburg, Ont.) and Sara Duic (Belle River, Ont./St. Anne) who are all in their first year of eligibility. They will be looking for another podium finish in order to qualify for the CCAA national championships being run at St. Lawrence College in Brockville, Ont., on Nov. 14.

The St. Clair men's team are led by Joaquim Lourenco (Harrow, Ont./St. Thomas of Villanova) who has finished top 25 in each of this three races this season which would qualify him for nationals. Justin Folkeringa (Windsor, Ont./Riverside), Dante Lapico (Windsor, Ont./Holy Names), Joseph Gignac (Amherstburg, Ont./General Amherst), Tyler Snyder (Cambridge, Ont.) and Walter Papak (Windsor, Ont./WF Herman) are the remaining members of the men's team for the Saints.
