MOHAWK STRONG AT OCAA CROSS COUNTRY PROVINCIALS

KING CITY, Ont. - The Mohawk men finished third and the Mountaineer women were fourth in their respective team competitions, at the OCAA Cross Country Championships presented by belairdirect in King City, Ont., on Saturday.

With the results, Mohawk's runners advanced to the Canadian Collegiate Athletic Association championships in Sault Ste. Marie, Ont., from Nov 11-12.

Fanshawe finished first in the men's eight kilometre race and Humber topped the women's five kilometre event.

Individually, Chris Caddey of Mohawk was 10th in the men's field of 114, timed in 28:43. The race winner was Seth Marcaccio of Fanshawe in 26:55.

Sarah Beairsto led Mohawk's women, finishing fourth in 21:58. The race winner was Mary Strain of Cambrian, who was timed in 20:28 in the field of 100.
