GEORGIAN CROSS COUNTRY COMPETES AT PROVINCIALS

LONDON, Ont. - The Georgian Grizzlies men's and women's cross country teams competed in the 2017 OCAA championships hosted by Fanshawe College on Saturday in London, Ont.

Georgian's women's team had a strong showing at the event finishing in sixth place overall.

Jessica Roach (Orillia) had her best performance of the season finishing in 18th overall in the women's six kilometre race. She was followed by Kaityln L'Abbe (Ottawa) in 31st overall and Meaghan Evon (Barrie) in 32nd place.

Desiree Allen (Orillia) was 45th, Sophia Merilainen (Batawa) was 55th and Rachael Smith (Guelph) finished in 66th to round out the Georgian contingent.

In the men's eight kilometre race Tyler Thomson (Bracebridge) was the top Georgian runner finishing in 34th overall.

He was followed by teammates Adam Skinner (Stratford) in 58th and Brian Lofaso (Toronto) who finished in 75th place.
