SARNIA, ON - In a clash of 402 rivals, the Lambton Lady Lions fought hard but ultimately fell to the Fanshawe Lady Falcons.

Lambton came out strong in the first half, controling the game on both ends of the floor. Even with Fanshawe implementing a full-court press for most of the first half, the Lions were able to break through and continue to set the pace. A late charge from the Falcons tied the game going into halftime and continued that momentum into the second half, where the Lions became overwhelmed by the Falcon attack. Offensive rebounding fueled Fanshawe's second half push, as they collected 30 offensive boards throughout the game.

Lambton was led by Melissa Ellis, who gave a complete effort on the floor. She finished one point shy of a double-double, amassing 9 points, 13 rebounds, and 5 assists. Paige Johnston and Lauren Van Leerzam also had strong games with 11 and 10 points respectively. The Lady Lions also welcomed back forward Christine Fleischer, who played a strong 22 minutes, collecting 6 points and 5 rebounds,

Fanshawe was led by Laura Vere, with 14 points, and Mikhaila Wright, with 13.

Lambton now sits at 4-6 on the season. They will look to rebound at home against the Redeeer Royals this Saturday, January 23. Game time is 1:00PM
