MOHAWK 78, LAMBTON 52

SARNIA, Ont. - After a win over St. Clair in Windsor, Ont., the night previous, the Mohawk women's basketball team moved on to Sarnia and recorded a 78-52 victory over the Lambton Lions on Saturday. The Mountaineers improved to 5-1 while the Lions slipped to 2-4.

Sam Pocrnic had 22 points and five steals for the Mountaineers. Jasmina Kucic scored 14 points and added 16 rebounds while Amy Carter had two points and 12 boards.

"We got off to a sluggish start, but luckily we found our legs in the third quarter and were able to pull away," said Mohawk head coach Kevin Duffy. "It certainly wasn't the prettiest game, but we will take the win and the sweep for the weekend and get home and prepare for Fanshawe (Nov. 25)."
