LAMBTON 1, ST. CLAIR 1

WINDSOR, Ont. - The St. Clair College women's varsity soccer team opened up their OCAA home schedule on Tuesday evening at the Main Campus Field by playing the Lambton College (Sarnia) Lions to a 1-1 draw.

The Saints got off to a slow start as Lambton carried the play for the first part of the match. Lambton went up 1-0 in the 12th minute. The Saints started to put some pressure on late in the first half but could not score the equalizer. The Lions outshot the Saints in the first half 11-4 with the Lambton also holding the edge in shot attempts 12-8.

St. Clair bounced back in the second half dominating play for most of the half. The Saints drew even on a nice goal by Melanie Daniel in the 78th minute. St. Clair pressed hard to get the winning goal for the last 15 minutes but could not put one in the back of the goal including hitting a cross bar late in the game. The shots on goal in the second half were 6-4 for the Saints who had 15 shot attempts compared to six for Lambton.

With the draw the Saints record on the season is now one win and one draw. St. Clair is next in action on Saturday when they travel to Kitchener to take on the Conestoga Condors.
