ST. CLAIR 4, LAMBTON 1

SARNIA, Ont. - On Tuesday evening, the St. Clair Saints (6-1-1) travelled to Sarnia to take on the Lambton Lions (0-7-1) and came away with a convincing 4-1 win. The Saints are currently ranked No. 15 in Canada and No. 4 in Ontario. The Saints have scored 28 goals and allowed 11 in 8 matches.

Lambton opened the scoring in the 17th minute to take a 1-0 lead. The Saints took over the play for the rest of the first half but failed to score the equalizer. St. Clair had seven shots on goal while Lambton had four in the first half. The Saints had 14 shot attempts compared to four for the Lions.

The Saints took over the game in the second half scoring four unanswered goals. Amber Hosker tied the game up in the 60th minute with Kaitlyn Austin scoring shortly after in the 62nd minute to give St. Clair the lead for good.

Melanie Jubenville scored on a penalty kick in the 81st minute to make it 3-1. Marissa Gabriele rounded out the scoring in the 90th minute. The Saints outshot the Lions 12-6 and also held a 15-8 edge in shot attempts. Alexandria Samping got the win in goal.

The Saints are next in action when they host the Redeemer University Royals on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Main Campus Field. The Royals are currently 2-6 on the season.
