Softball Earns a Big Sweep at Fanshawe

London, ON – The St. Clair College Women's Softball team earned an important pair of wins at London's Stronach Park over Fanshawe College Wednesday night bumping their record to 10-6.   The Saints won by scores of 6-1 and 16-3 while pounding the home team's pitching for 20 hits in the two games.

In the opening game Mary O'Neil (Oldcastle, ON/St. Thomas of Villanova), Jenna Hillman (Windsor, ON/Tecumseh Vista) and Hannah Desrosiers (Windsor, ON/Kennedy each had two hits for St. Clair.  O'Neil and Desrosiers each added 2 RBI's in the win for St. Clair.  Rya Cowan (Lasalle, ON/Sandwich) threw a complete game on the mound for the Saints who allowed only 1 earned run while spreading out 7 hits to go with 2 strikeouts. 

In the second game St. Clair pitcher Olivia Elliott (Oakville, ON) cruised to her 4th victory of the season with lots of run support but struck out 12 Fanshawe batters while giving up only 2 earned runs on 6 hits in 7 innings of work.  Hillman and Cowan each had 3 hits apiece but O'Neil led the Saints with 3 RBI's.

The Saints return home this weekend with doubleheaders against Seneca College (North York) on Saturday and Mohawk College (Hamilton) on Sunday.  Game times each day are scheduled for 1:00pm and 3:00pm starts at Mic Mac Park on Little League Diamond #2.
