Windsor, ON – The St. Clair College Women's Softball team swept another doubleheader at Mic Mac Park with 8-1 and 10-0 wins over Seneca College (North York) on Saturday. The Saints now lead the OCAA standings with a 12-2 record as they move past the halfway point of the season.
Saints pitcher Olivia Elliott (Oakville, ON) picked up wins in both games moving her record to 6-2 on the season. In the opener Elliott pitched 3 innings and gave up only 2 hits while striking out 5 batters. The offense was alive early with 2 runs in the first inning and a 6-spot in the second inning. St. Clair coasted from that point and only gave a single run to Seneca in the last inning. Kim Moroun (Belle River, ON/Belle River), Jordan Taylor (Lasalle, ON/St. Thomas of Villanova) and Michaela Rilett (Windsor, ON/Kennedy) each had 2 hits for the Saints with Taylor adding 2 RBI's.
Elliott picked up her 2nd win of the day in 4 innings of work but surrendered only 1 walk with no hits and 4 strikeouts. Rilett paced the Saints 13-hit attack with 3 by herself including 2 doubles and 2 RBI's. St. Clair led 5-0 after three innings and put up 5 runs in the 5th for the mercy shortened victory.
The Saints finish their home weekend with a doubleheader Sunday versus Humber College (Etobicoke) on Sunday. Game times are 12:00 and 2:00pm and will be played at Mic Mac Park Little League Diamond #2.
